· Bridgestone invests 2 billion yuan to expand the Indian factory

According to foreign media reports, Bridgestone plans to invest US$304 million (RMB 2.03 billion) to expand the capacity of two plants in India in five years.

The two plants are located in Pune and Indore, India.

After the expansion is completed, the daily production capacity of the tires can be increased by about 60% to 41,000.

Bridgestone said the investment could optimize the production lines of the two plants and add 450 jobs.

At the same time, the company did not disclose specific expansion plans.

It is understood that both the Indore and Pune factories produce passenger cars, light trucks and medium truck tires.

Among them, the Indore factory was established in 1998, with a higher capacity and staff than the Pune factory.

In recent years, as a representative of emerging markets, India has received more and more attention from tire companies.

Zhengxin Tire recently announced that its two-year Indian factory was officially put into operation in June, mainly producing motorcycle tires.

Liao Zhengyao, general manager of the Shin-India plant, said that the tires produced by the new plant in India will be supplied directly to the assembly plant instead of entering the replacement tire market.
