From Tom Podraza:
This fire truck was originally a reserve unit for seven years before being sold by DGFD in 2014. It was later replaced by a 2007 Pierce model. The engine was then resold by Brindlee Mountain to the Pleasant Groves Volunteer Fire Department in Woodville, Alabama. It seems like it saw very little use there, as it only has around 2,000 miles on the odometer since its last sale.
You can find this 1995 Pierce Tilt Cab Saber Custom Pumper listed on govdeals.com. The current bid stands at $2,000 with two bids placed so far. The auction is set to close on August 30th, 2024, at 3:00 PM CDT. The reserve price has been met, and the minimum bid increment is $25.
The vehicle is located in Woodville, Alabama, and features an 8.7L L6 Detroit Diesel engine that runs but requires repairs. The engine has 13,360 hours of operation, and recent oil analysis showed elevated levels of iron and aluminum. The Allison automatic transmission is in working condition, and the truck was last maintained annually before being taken out of service on August 5th, 2024.
The Waterous CMU 1,500 GPM pump is still operational, though its certification has expired. It comes with a 500-gallon poly tank and multiple intake and discharge ports. The tires are in good shape, and the truck includes all necessary lights, a Q2B siren, auto-eject system, and three SCBA seats. There’s no cracked glass, and the cab does not tilt. The interior is gray with well-maintained seating and storage cabinets. Decals are still visible, and the truck appears to be in overall decent condition despite its age.
