The Wheeling Fire Department responded to a small fire at 458 Thornhill Lane on Tuesday morning, September 13, 2016. The incident occurred at the rear of a second-floor unit in a townhouse. Upon arrival, first responders discovered flames burning on the exterior of the building near the back deck. Firefighters quickly deployed one hose line and successfully contained the fire to a limited area, preventing it from spreading further.
The fire appeared to be isolated to the balcony, with no signs of smoke or flames inside the structure. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Local residents were advised to remain cautious and keep an eye on their homes for any potential issues.
