The Wheeling Fire Department responded to a small fire at 458 Thornhill Lane on Tuesday morning, September 13, 2016. The incident occurred in the rear of a second-floor unit within a townhouse complex. Upon arrival, first responders discovered flames burning on the exterior of the building, specifically near the back deck. Firefighters quickly deployed one hose line and managed to contain the blaze to a limited area, preventing further spread.
The fire did not appear to have affected the interior of the unit, and no injuries were reported. Local residents were advised to remain cautious and keep windows closed during the response. The cause of the fire is under investigation by local authorities.
