The Prospect Heights Fire Department (FPD) held their open house on Saturday, and Drew Smith shared the following account: At the start of the event, there were two special moments. First, a memorial was dedicated to Thomas O’Donoghue, a former president of the Board of Trustees. It was a heartfelt way to honor his contributions to the community. Shortly after, John Douglas (Doug) Tragesser was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, marking an important milestone in his career with the department. The open house featured a variety of activities for residents, including fire truck displays, equipment demonstrations, and opportunities to meet the firefighters. Several photos were taken throughout the day, capturing the spirit of the event and the pride of the community. While the images are not visible here, they would have shown the friendly interactions between firefighters and locals, as well as the vibrant atmosphere that made the day a success. The event was a great chance for people to learn more about the FPD and appreciate the hard work of those who serve.
