"Hey, this is Dan Shevlin here. Just wanted to share what happened earlier today. It all went down around the 2500 block of Marquette. The time was roughly 10:30 AM when I got the heads-up from an engineer on Laflin Street about some smoke visible in the area. So, I decided to check it out myself. Turns out, it was a two-story courtyard building that was still occupied at the time. There was some trash piled up on the back porch, which could have been the source of the issue.
Big thanks to the engineer from Engine 116 for flagging this to me. Without their sharp eyes, I might’ve missed it. I took a few quick photos while I was there, and those are included below. These images really capture the scene as it unfolded.

The whole incident was quite intense, but thankfully the building was still occupied, and no one seemed to be in immediate danger.
