This morning, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District (LRFPD) received an urgent call about a possible house fire at 1975 Rose Terrace in Riverwoods. The homeowner reported seeing flames in the garage, prompting the fire department to upgrade the alarm status to a Working Fire. Upon arrival, the first responding engine quickly identified the situation as a fully-involved attached garage at a large, two-story residence. They immediately initiated a transitional attack using a 2 1/2-inch hose line.
As the initial crews worked diligently to contain the blaze, assistance began arriving from neighboring departments including Long Grove FPD, Deerfield-Bannockburn FPD, Countryside FPD, and Wheeling. After approximately half an hour on scene, the alarm was escalated further to a MABAS Box Alarm due to reports of fire extension into the main structure of the house. In response, additional resources were dispatched from neighboring areas such as Lake Zurich, Mundelein, Gurnee, and Libertyville.
The coordinated efforts of all involved agencies eventually brought the fire under control. Mutual aid companies were released back to their respective stations shortly thereafter.
