Here's an account shared by Eric Haak regarding a fire incident that took place early in the morning on December 30th in Oak Forest:

I captured some images of various departments responding to a fire involving a MABAS box activation. The initial call came into the Markham dispatch around 4:42 AM for what was reported as a commercial property fire at the intersection of 165th Street and Pulaski Road. Markham Engine 33 was the first unit on scene and quickly relayed that the fire was located inside a small warehouse and had already spread to the roof area. Shortly afterward, it was confirmed that the fire fell under Oak Forest's jurisdiction, prompting their immediate dispatch. The building involved was a 50x50 foot metal-clad structure that appeared to be used as a storage space for various vehicles. The closest hydrant was roughly 300 feet away, which posed significant challenges due to limited access to the site. By 5:11 AM, the incident had been upgraded to a full box alarm. Firefighters tackled the blaze using three separate lines positioned at the front of the building. Ventilation holes were later cut into the rear wall of the structure to help control the fire. Unfortunately, I left before the fire was fully extinguished, so I can't provide details beyond this point. The temperature remained just above freezing throughout the entire operation.

Overall, it was a challenging situation given the weather conditions and the location of the building. It's always impressive to see how quickly emergency personnel mobilize and work together during these types of incidents. I hope everyone involved remained safe despite the harsh elements!
