The Reddick Community Volunteer Fire Department, located within MABAS Division 7, operates from a single station staffed by 21 dedicated volunteers. Their coverage area spans 52 square miles, and they maintain a diverse fleet that includes an ambulance, a brush rig, two fire engines, and a water tender to support their community. One of their engines, Engine 103, is a 1997 KME built on a Freightliner FL 80 chassis. This rig previously served with the Sullivan West VFD in Tennessee before finding its current home in Reddick. Another notable piece of equipment is Engine 105, which was formerly known as Engine 103. This vehicle dates back to 1980 and features a front-mount pump manufactured by American Fire Apparatus. Installed on an F-Series Ford chassis, it carries 750 gallons of water and boasts a powerful 750-gallon-per-minute pump. Both vehicles reflect the department's commitment to serving their area with reliable, well-maintained equipment. Despite their limited resources, the Reddick Community VFD continues to grow and adapt to meet the needs of their residents. Their efforts ensure that emergency response times remain efficient while providing essential services to the surrounding area. As the department looks toward the future, they remain committed to enhancing their capabilities through training and acquiring new equipment when possible. --- While these images capture some of the department’s assets, they only tell part of the story. Behind every vehicle and every call, there are individuals who dedicate countless hours to keeping their community safe. These volunteers often balance full-time jobs, family responsibilities, and personal pursuits alongside their firefighting duties. Their dedication is what truly sets Reddick apart and makes them a vital part of Division 7. If you ever find yourself driving through this region, take a moment to appreciate the work being done by the Reddick Community VFD. Whether it’s responding to a medical emergency or tackling a brush fire, their presence provides peace of mind for everyone who calls this place home. And if you’re lucky enough to meet one of their members, don’t hesitate to thank them—they’ve earned it!
