I just got some updates from Martin Nowak about the Hinsdale Fire Department's latest addition to their fleet. They’ve swapped out their old 1999 International 4700/Horton ambulance with a brand-new 2013 Ford F-450. The new rig is now serving as Ambulance 1015. I'm still trying to figure out what happened to the old ambulance, but I did spot Engine 1012, which is an older 1987 Pierce model, parked over at the Public Works Garage.
The photos that Martin snapped give a great look at this shiny new vehicle. The first shot shows the front end, and you can really see how much more modern it looks compared to its predecessor. There’s another angle in one of the other images that highlights the side profile—definitely a step up in terms of design and functionality. In fact, there’s even a third image focusing on the rear, where all the equipment is neatly arranged. It almost feels like they've packed twice as much gear into the same space, which has to be a big improvement for emergency response times.
