Solar Energy News: Solar Set For Post-Brexit Boost

The UK's messy split from the European Union might just give a much-needed push to solar energy, as the renewable sector looks to capitalize on the current volatility in the gas and oil markets. Right now, the UK relies heavily on importing conventional energy from within the EU. However, without any established energy transfer agreements between the UK and the continent post-Brexit, there are predictions of looming energy shortages and rising prices. Energy UK, a leading trade association, believes that solar power could very well step in to bridge this gap.

Lawrence Slade, CEO of Energy UK, stated that "the absence of a clear agreement on the UK's exit from the EU will have serious and adverse effects on the energy industry, potentially affecting consumer bills." Despite this, there is optimism, even though initial Brexit-related investments in UK renewables dropped by 56%, largely due to concerns over exporting energy and importing equipment.

Solar Power Could Be the Solution

Andrius Terskovas, from Sun Investment Group (SIG), one of Central-Eastern Europe's largest solar providers, who previously supplied equipment to the UK, remains optimistic. He noted, "Given the declining costs and growing popularity of solar energy, the gap left by the lack of secure energy transfers between the UK and the EU could be filled by solar energy providers."

Regardless of the final outcome of the Brexit negotiations—whether it's a no-deal scenario or a withdrawal agreement is reached—solar energy stands to benefit and should play a crucial role in filling the energy gap.

Secure Stable Energy Rates Before Prices Get Unpredictable

Energy switching service Make it Cheaper is urging both consumers and businesses to lock in better energy deals while the UK's future relationship with the EU remains undecided. John Elliott, CEO of Make it Cheaper, commented, "Energy UK's report highlights the potential causes of these price hikes and reinforces the importance of switching to longer fixed-term tariffs soon to secure stable rates for your business."

In 2018, energy switching hit a record high in the UK, with one in five consumers switching to a new energy provider, according to another release by Energy UK.

A Global Movement for Climate Action

On April 15, 2018, thousands of environmental activists took to the streets of London in what was dubbed a 'climate rebellion,' calling for urgent government action on climate change. Extinction Rebellion, the organizing group, is pushing for decisive measures to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, placing these issues at the heart of their demands.

Wear-resistant Ceramics

Wear resistant ceramic series, ceramic rubber sheet three-in-one composite liner combines the advantages of ceramic's high hardness and rubber's high cushioning, with wear resistant and impact resistant performance, which can solve the problem of anti-abrasion of the equipment in the process of conveying bulky materials and effectively reduce the environmental noise.
Roller covered is an important part of the belt conveyor transportation system, after covered the roller can effectively improve the operating conditions of the conveyor system, to protect the metal roller from wear and tear, rhombic pattern, ceramic rubber plate coating surface, can increase the friction on the surface of the rubber plate, to prevent the sliding friction between the roller and the belt to reduce the belt slipping, to reduce the roller surface of the material adhesion, so as to reduce the belt deflection and abrasion, so that the roller synchronized with the belt to ensure efficient operation of the belt.
