Hey everyone, This message is coming from Sam Borcia. Just wanted to share what happened earlier today. The Grayslake Fire Department and other Quad 2 departments were first called out to a potential water rescue situation on Third Lake near 202 Mainsail Drive in Third Lake. This all went down on Monday, July 21st, around 4:13 PM. Dispatch mentioned that it involved a 16-year-old boy who was swimming but didn't resurface. As things progressed, the situation was escalated to a MABAS second alarm under Dive Box #27-69, and later, they requested another second alarm under Box #27-67. Fast forward to around 8:00 PM, and unfortunately, they located the body. I wasn’t able to get very close to the water’s edge to capture operational shots on the lake, but I managed to snap some photos of the apparatus. I've attached a few here for you all to see. *First Image Caption*: That's a Mundelein Fire Department ambulance. *Second Image Caption*: Here’s a Grayslake Fire District fire engine. *Third Image Caption*: You can see some of the fire department vehicles gathered at the water recovery site. *Fourth Image Caption*: More fire department vehicles with their boat trailers ready to assist. *Fifth Image Caption*: A closer look at the fire department vehicles on standby. *Sixth Image Caption*: Another angle showing the Grayslake Fire District ambulance. It's always tough to see situations like this unfold, and my thoughts go out to everyone involved. Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to know or any way I can help. Take care, Sam Borcia
