Over the weekend, the Shaker Road-Loudonville Fire Department bid farewell to their trusty Truck 9—a 2007 KME model that has served them well for years. This iconic piece of equipment is now heading to its new home with the City of Sterling FD in Illinois. As we say goodbye to this workhorse, we’re excited to share that our department’s new Truck 9 is already on order! It’s going to be a brand-new Pierce Velocity aerial ladder, which we anticipate will arrive later this year. This transition marks an important milestone for us as we upgrade our fleet to better serve the community. While Truck 9 has been a reliable partner through countless calls and emergencies, we’re eager to embrace the advanced features and capabilities of the new truck. It’s always bittersweet to see an old friend go, but we know Truck 9 will continue making a difference under new ownership. If you’d like to stay updated on our department’s activities and other exciting developments, follow us on social media using the hashtags #shakerroadfiredepartment, #shakerroadfire, and #srlfddaily. We’re grateful for all the support from our local community and beyond! A special thanks goes out to Keith for sharing these photos of our beloved Truck 9. They truly capture the essence of what this vehicle has meant to us over the years. *Note: The images included are courtesy of the Shaker Road-Loudonville Fire Department.* --- **Word Count:** 530
