On July 6th, Sinopec's reforming catalyst successfully won a bid from Taiwanese CNPC, marking a historic breakthrough in the export of reforming catalysts. This achievement signified that all categories of catalytic catalysts are now being exported, reflecting the growing international recognition of Sinopec's technology and quality. This success was driven by the close collaboration between the catalyst division and research institutions, which implemented a zero-time difference, zero-charge, one-stop technical service model throughout the entire process. As a result, the value chain of the catalysts has continuously expanded, and customer satisfaction has steadily improved. From January to June this year, sales increased by 8.8% year-on-year, with exports rising by an impressive 60.8%. Faced with intense market competition, the Catalyst Branch launched a comprehensive initiative in 2007, designating it as the "Year of Innovation, Service, and Management." The goal was to strengthen the brand image of China Petrochemical Catalyst. To better serve customers, the branch focused on understanding user needs and introduced two key commitments: zero-fee services and zero-day response times. All services would be free of charge, and on-site support for domestic clients would arrive within 12 hours, with a maximum delay of 24 hours. The entire process service model ensured that users received continuous support from product request to end-use. Each catalyst company established a technical service center, set up dedicated hotlines, hired experienced personnel as market supervisors, and offered pre-sale, in-sale, after-sale, technical evaluation, recycling, trade-in, and storage services. These efforts promoted the development of "one-stop" and "full-service" solutions, while maintaining regular user visits and open communication channels. In 2007, the branch also revised and enhanced technical service standards, initiated supervision mechanisms, and formed a technical service inspection team to monitor and evaluate the performance of each subsidiary. This helped drive continuous improvement in service quality. During the construction of Hainan Refining & Chemicals Co., Ltd., the Catalyst Branch was responsible for transporting, storing, and starting the first batch of catalysts. It marked the company’s first attempt at a “one-stop” service model. A leadership group was established to coordinate all technical service activities, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of catalysts. The Technical Service Working Group even moved to the site to collaborate with research institutes, participating in every stage of plant start-up, adjustment, calibration, and final review. This effort ensured smooth operation and earned strong approval from Hainan Refining & Chemicals. In April, after signing a strategic cooperation agreement with the China National Petroleum Corporation’s Oil and Gas Center, the Catalyst Branch expanded its services across various companies within the center. They also engaged experts from the Institute of Stone Science and Technology to provide on-site technical support. Soon after, both parties signed an annual purchase and sales contract. To help customers understand new products more effectively, the Catalyst Branch invited overseas clients to visit production sites and sent technical teams to conduct in-depth training and guidance at their facilities. This not only provided customers with insights into new technologies and market trends but also helped increase Sinopec’s market share. The Taiwan market remains a crucial focus for the Catalyst Branch, where extensive technical support has significantly boosted sales. From February 2004 to the present, the Changling Branch, with support from the Institute of Stone Science, has conducted 11 on-site technical visits, adjusted the catalyst formula five times, and published over 30 technical articles. Yu Feng has also provided valuable operational advice, technical lectures, and information to users. Over the past three years, Sinopec’s catalyst market in Taiwan has not only been consolidated but has also seen steady growth. Today, several refineries in Taiwan use Sinopec-branded catalytic cracking catalysts. International oil giants such as BP and Shell have also expressed interest in using Sinopec catalysts in the near future.
