Lithium-ion batteries are easy to carry and have chargeability. We are already familiar. They do have some obvious drawbacks, including thermal issues, toxic elements, and technical limitations that cannot be produced on a large scale. A group of scientists at the University of Southern California (USC) is working on another form of water-based organic battery that is not only cheaper and more environmentally friendly, but also uses wind and solar power plants as a means to store large amounts of energy.

The technology developed by the University of Southern California team is back through so-called organic batteries. This is a bit like a fuel cell, which consists of two chemicals that contain electroactive substances. The electrical activity of the new-flow battery is a key material. Not metal or other toxic substances. Current helium-based fluid batteries are produced from natural hydrocarbons, but the team hopes to use it directly one day. The most immediate goal is to expand the scale of production to make it more widely used.
