In the “Twelfth Five-Year” development plan of the machine tool industry recently released by the China Machine Tool & Tooling Industry Association, the green manufacturing project including remanufacturing was included in the main scope of work. “Green manufacturing” is a modern manufacturing mode that minimizes the negative impact on the environment and maximizes the utilization efficiency of raw materials and energy. They are very popular with customers and they are also used by other small and medium-sized machine tools. The green manufacturing practices of the manufacturers set a good example.

China's national conditions must be decided to implement green manufacturing. According to incomplete statistics, China's existing machine tools have an installed capacity of 8 million units, making it the world's largest machine tool holder. Among them, more than 2 million traditional old machine tools have been in service for more than 10 years and have entered the peak period of mechanical equipment scrapping. If these old machine tools are allowed to rust and fester, it is not only a waste of resources, but also poses a great threat to the environment.

The steel industry in the upper reaches of the machine tool industry is due to iron ore, coke and other steel-making raw and auxiliary materials. At present, many universities and research institutes in China have already conducted research in the field of green manufacturing and achieved certain results.
