On July 5, Changan Automobile and BYD signed a strategic cooperation agreement and a battery joint venture cooperation framework agreement in Shenzhen. Changan Automobile will participate in the BYD battery business segment, and the two sides will establish a more comprehensive strategic cooperation relationship through equity relationship and capital ties. The two parties intend to jointly establish a power battery joint venture company with independent legal status in Chongqing Liangjiang New District.

Joint venture to build a power battery factory, capacity planning 10GWh: The joint venture company to be established by Changan Automobile and BYD will be launched in Chongqing Liangjiang New District. The joint venture company will focus on the business segment of power battery production and sales. The production capacity will be implemented in stages according to the 10GWh plan. The first phase will reach 5-6GWh and the second phase will reach 4-5GWh.

3. Dongfeng Motor & Lishen Battery

On May 4, 2017, SAIC Motor announced that it will establish two joint ventures through the wholly-owned subsidiary Shanghai Automotive Group Investment Management Co., Ltd. and Ningde Times: Times Shangqi Power Battery Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Times SAIC) and SAIC Era Power Battery System. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SAIC Times Power).

It is understood that the registered capital of SAIC is RMB 2 billion, SAIC plans to hold 49% of the shares, and Ningde Times intends to hold 51% of the shares. 5. Beiqi New Energy & Guoxuan Hi-Tech

On May 31, 2017, Guoxuan Hi-Tech announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Hefei Guoxuan and Beijing New Energy signed the “2017 Purchasing Agreement”, and Beiqi New Energy plans to purchase 50,000 sets of pure electric vehicle batteries from Hefei Guoxuan.
