Iron bolts are available in grades such as 3.6, 4.6, 4.8, 5.6, 6.8, 8.8, 9.8, 10.9, and 12.9. Bolts rated at Grade 8.8 or higher are typically made from low carbon or carbon steel with heat treatment (quenching and tempering) and are considered high-strength bolts. The rest are known as ordinary bolts. Stainless steel bolts include types like SUS201, SUS304, and SUS316. They are used with nuts to fasten two parts that have holes.
