Here's a message from Eric Haak:

The McCook Fire Department responded to a fire that broke out around 4:00 am on Saturday, January 26th, at 5300 Lawndale Avenue. The structure involved was a large 100 by 100 foot semi-repair shop. The area had very limited access and only a few hydrants were available, which made the response more challenging. To make things even harder, the temperature was hovering around -2 degrees Fahrenheit, creating extremely difficult conditions for the firefighters.

It’s clear that the firefighters faced a tough situation, not just because of the size of the building but also due to the weather and lack of resources. The images captured by Eric show the intensity of the blaze and the effort it took to bring it under control. It's a reminder of the challenges first responders face every day, especially during extreme weather conditions.
