[China Instrument Network Instrument R&D] On March 17, 2017, under the support of the “National Large-scale Advanced PWR and High-temperature Gas-cooled Reactor Nuclear Power Plant” national science and technology major project, the hydrostatic pressure test of the reactor pressure vessel of Unit 1 of the CAP1400 demonstration project was successfully completed.


The design pressure of this hydrostatic test is 17.2 MPa. The hydrostatic test is divided into two stages: the pressure test of the pressure vessel body and the internal and external O-ring leakage test. The overall hydrostatic test pressure is 21.5 MPa and the holding pressure time is 10 minutes. When the pressure dropped to 17.2 MPa, the internal and external O-ring leak test was conducted. During the hydrostatic pressure test, all the indicators met the design requirements, and there was no leakage or sweating during the entire process.

The hydrostatic test was successfully completed at one time, indicating that the CAP1400 reactor pressure vessel independently designed and developed by China has been domesticated, laying a good foundation for the mass production of the three generations of nuclear power.

The reactor pressure vessel is the core equipment of the nuclear power unit and is the most important safety barrier for containing radioactive materials. It is not replaceable during the 60-year life cycle, and its advanced nature is crucial to ensure the safety and reliability of nuclear power plant operation. The reactor pressure vessel is independently designed by the National Nuclear Power Institute of Shanghai Nuclear Power and independently manufactured by China. It adopts an integrated roof and an integrated bottom head to reduce the number of welds, greatly reducing the workload of in-service inspections, and improving nuclear power. Plant safety and economy. In addition, the reactor pressure vessel forgings have large diameter size, high performance requirements, and overall heavy weight, and are one of the world's most demanding nuclear primary equipment.
