The world's largest tire maker Bridgestone Japanese tire company (Bridgestone Corp.) recently said that the company has developed a plan to resume production, and will give priority to restore the production of truck and bus tires.

According to the resumption of production plan, the company will gradually resume production in five factories in the Kanto area or north of Kanto. Among them, the Tokyo factory (Tokyo) has resumed production on March 15. Tochigi, Nasu and Kuroiso will all resume production on March 16. The first two plants will resume delivery on March 18. The Yokohama factory (Yokohama) has also begun partial recovery after safety inspections. The company stated that the time for full production of the Yokohama plant needs to be determined based on the power curtailment and other issues.

Bridgestone said that the company will work hard to cooperate with the blackout measures. At the same time, the company's factories are equipped with co-generation systems. The company will make full use of these equipment to minimize the impact of power outages on production.

In addition, considering that truck and bus tires are necessary commercial products for the reconstruction of the affected area, the company will give priority to the production of truck and bus tires.
