Cummins Fuel System (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. was officially completed and put into production in 2008. The second phase of the project, with a total investment of 24 million yuan, adopts world-leading manufacturing, R&D facilities, and technological processes. The products can meet Euro IV, Euro V, and Euro VI emission standards. In addition to supplying the domestic market, they will also supply overseas markets. The second phase of the plant is expected to be completed and put into production in June 2011. In 2012, it will complete the goal of a total capacity of 80,000 sets of fuel systems, and the production capacity will be doubled.
If the engine is the heart of the car, then the fuel system is like the blood supply system in the heart. Cummins fuel system has more than 80 years of experience in R&D and production. Wuhan production base is the first fuel system production base outside North America. The first phase of production began in April 2008. The main products include diesel common-rail fuel pumps, and the annual production capacity is 40,000 sets.
It is understood that the second phase of the project will invest 24 million yuan, all using the world's most advanced manufacturing, R&D facilities, etc., to keep pace with the development and production of U.S. headquarters products, and to launch new products such as high-pressure fuel injectors in addition to supplying Dongfeng Cummins. It will also export to Brazil, the United Kingdom, the United States, etc. The export scope will cover international markets such as Asia, Latin America and Europe.
In addition to the new fuel system plant, Cummins East Asia Engine R&D Center and Cummins Power (China) Co., Ltd. are already located in Wuhan. At the same time, Cummins and Dongfeng also cooperated to establish the China Technology Center and Cummins Central China Distribution Service Center. Wuhan has become a forward position for Cummins' business development in China.
